CNA Training Program
Training as a Certified Nursing Assistant includes both classroom as well as practical training. Taking the form of community college program, university or the medical facilities it spans around 100-120 hours in duration.
The training covers all types of works that are required for the nursing assistant. It consists of training on patient care standards, rights as well as responsibilities, daily care processes, basic medical equipments, and legal issues.
An important aspect of the training is learning about daily care processes like the bathing and feeding and emergency procedures. However CPR and the uses of emergency cardio equipments are not integral part of the training. Yet for a little higher level they can be taught.
In terms of expenses, the cna training costs in the range of $400-$1000. Financial aids are often made available depending on the financial status of the trainee concerned. Sometimes for the return of commitment to work for a particular company for 3-6 months such training is also provided free of cost.
On completion of the training a certification exam is conducted either by the schools, the health board, or National Nurse Aide Assessment Program (NNAAP). On successful completion of exam the CAN student is certified and also qualified to start working.
